Ryan Wyatt, Polygon CEO, commented on this partnership. “By embracing this novel tech, Bentley secures its position in the next iteration of the internet, and doing so via Polygon’s carbon-neutral network will assist the automaker on its journey toward attaining carbon-neutrality by 2030.”

MASS ADOPTION IS AUTO-MATIC!

Another Amazing Week for Polygon
By the MATIC MAN

What a week it was for the powerhouse Polygon project! In what has become the norm, almost every day brought bullish news and a smile to the faces of Polygon People.

The week began with this four-word tweet from the official Polygon Twitter account, “Mission Carbon Neutral. Accomplished.”

Back in April, the Polygon leadership team unveiled its Green Manifesto, committing a whopping $20 million to help Polygon become carbon negative in 2022. Partnering with KlimaDAO in this initiative, Polygon purchased $400,000 worth of carbon credits, canceling out the equivalent of the MATIC network’s entire carbon debt since its launch.

Polygon co-founder Sandeep Nailwal spoke about his desire for the blockchain industry to help be a part of the solution to the world’s environmental challenges. “Our world is facing an environmental crisis, and the blockchain industry must do far more than promise to stop adding to the problem,” explained Nailwal. “Reaching carbon neutrality is an important first step, but there is more work ahead. Polygon will lead the way as the whole industry moves toward becoming a net positive for the environment.”

On the heels of this announcement was the exciting news that British luxury carmaker Bentley Motors planned to launch its first NFT collection in September on Polygon. They have plans for a 208-piece set, a significant number to them as it represents the top speed of its fastest Grand Tourer and matching the total production run of the R-Type Continental of 1952. Bentley’s plan to transition to all-electric cars matches well with Polygon’s commitment to environmental consciousness.

These two announcements were exciting, but things were only getting started, as the good news kept coming. The much-anticipated Polygon ID, a new identity solution incorporating zero-knowledge technology claiming to “flip the internet’s trust model,” was unveiled. Polygon ID provides Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) the ability to check individual identities without users revealing personal information. The Polygon blog issued this statement, “Polygon ID puts users in complete control of their digital identity, allowing them to prove specific aspects of their identity without revealing any personal information.”

To cap off the exciting week of game-changing news for Polygon, Coinbase issued this announcement. “Over the next month, eligible Coinbase and Coinbase Exchange customers will be able to send and receive ETH, MATIC, and USDC on Polygon.” This Polygon integrationsignals the first time Coinbase has enabled the ability to send and receive these assets on a Layer- 2 or sidechain.

This new partnership with Coinbase, which boasts almost 100 million verified users, is yet another step on Polygon’s pathway to mass adoption. Listed below are the plethora of partnerships announced by Polygon already in 2022, and the year is not yet half over.

The future is bright for Polygon People!
